What is it you really want

What is it you really want

Misery, what a concept. It loves to be fed, and without Christ it will take up residence in your soul. Contentment and Joy, the opposite of misery, both love to be fed, the only difference portrayed here is misery condemns, joy and contentment do not. Joy and Contentment are not feelings, they are characteristics of the Holy Spirit, and He does not force Himself on anyone. All He does is convict, beyond that it’s your choice to chose. So which you will feed. Will you chose the Lord? Will you decide to live? I’ve tasted of misery, it is fun for a while, as long as you are in control. It’s no longer a pleasure when you can’t even enjoy your own pity party. And when the darkness of your past haunts you, it leaves an emptiness that no human can fill. It is then that you cry out for help, yet it seems no one is there. It’s because you’ve walked away from the Lord. It is only one step back my friend, just turn around and He’ll be there to pull you out of your pit.

Joy and contentment are not based upon feelings. If they were, we would not need God to lean on, nor would faith or trust be required. This is how God built the system. He wants us to depend on Him for our needs. He made it so we would need to rely on His Spirit for comfort and communion. Without it we become food for the wolves of this corrupted society. The enemy tries to defile our minds through the world’s passions. We must pray daily to be transformed, and to be called according to His purpose. Misery only takes you so far, it creates the power of greed, selfishness, draining you of all love, making you into a man or woman made of hate. You may not think you are that type of person, but if you do not follow the Lord, eventually something will occur that will cause you to form anger in your heart toward your neighbor. And that my friend births hatred.
